Armorial arms of Morgan platter

Chinese export porcelain platter featuring the arms of Morgan impaling Warton, c.1790.
This service was made for Colonel James Morgan (1740-1808), originally of Southampton, who served with the East India Company in India. He married Mary Warton in England in 1744, she was the eldest daughter of Revd. Joseph Warton, Headmaster of Winchester College.
